In early
2006 we were amazed at what we found when we began a little research about cloth diapers. These
were NOT JUST cloth diapers anymore! They were a HUGE
money saver, very easy to use and care for, fun, stylish,
highly economical and most importantly - HEALTHY for our children!
It didn't
take long and after about 2 weeks of research we decided to invest in different types
of cloth diapers for our youngest daughter, wishing we had been knowledgeable about cloth diapering
for our oldest as well! After trying out a mix and
match of all different styles and brands, we were
just not satisfied. We were determined not to go back
to disposable diapers but knew that if our family
was going to stick with cloth diapering then we
would need to find an alternative to the diapers we
had sampled.
With a pen
and paper, a lengthy list was made cloth diaper problems to solve. Mainly,
the leaks and the messes caused by dirty diapers that
were not contained. Too many outfits being ruined! We also found that with many cloth diapers, when
they did not leak, they still left "wet lines"
on our daughters clothing as well as on ourselves from
where the baby was sitting.
Through
trial and error and lots of baby testing the first
rump•a•rooz® was born! Incorporating some
very important and unique features that were not found
in ANY cloth diaper on the market yet, we were very
pleased that the rumparooz was truly a step above the
rest. They were very popular amongst other cloth diapering
friends, so much so that we decided to open a store
online so that friends and friends of friends would
have a more organized place to order. We could have
never imagined what was about to happen...they were
a hit! News spread like wildfire!
Every business
has to start somewhere and this one started out in
a tiny little living room with Julie tracing and sewing
diapers at the kitchen table while her husband cut
all her fabric. Occasionally a friend or two would
stop by to help cut as well. The rump•a•rooz®
is now in its 5th revision stage and we truly believe
that it is just about perfect! Granted, every cloth
diaper is not for everyone, which is why rump•a•rooz®
has expanded their inventory to incorporate new styles
such as AIO, AIO Pocket, Fitted, Covers, One Size,
Snap Closure and a very exciting new size exclusively for
those teeny tiny newborns - the lil Joey!
